Changes to Online Payment Center
To make a payment with our new Online Payment Center, be sure to enter your full Loan Account Number and register as a Registered User.
Our online payment center has a new look and new functionality.
To make a payment on your auto loan or mortgage loan through our online payment center you will need to enter your full Loan Account Number and the last four digits of your SSN.
You will also be invited to become a Registered User or a sign in as a Guest. As a Registered User you won’t be charged a fee to make a payment, you can set recurring payments, and you can make monthly payments with just a few clicks. Please note that even if you are a current online payment center user, you will need to register for the new online payment center to utilize the new experience.
Where can I find my full Loan Account Number?
- Online Banking – If you are registered with Online Banking you can find your complete Loan Account Number by clicking Account Details after logging in. If you are not already registered, you can register for Online Banking now.
- Important Info Letter Received By Mail – In early February you received a letter in the mail from Northwest with important information about your loan account. Please reference this letter for details.
- Welcome Letter – If you just recently took out your loan, your “Welcome to Northwest Federal” letter provided you with your full Loan Account Number.
- Contact Us – If you are unable to locate your Loan Account Number please call us at 703-709-8900, M-F: 7:00am-7:00pm; Sat: 8:00am-1:00pm.

New Online Payment Center User Information
- Online Banking – If you are registered with Online Banking you can find your complete Loan Account Number by clicking Account Details after logging in. If you are not already registered, you can register for Online Banking now.

- In addition to your Loan Account Number, you will also need to enter the last four digits of your SSN. This is an enhanced security feature to protect your account information.
- If you have family members who make payments to your loan on your behalf, please make sure they have this required information to use the new online payment center.
- No fee when you make a loan payment. When you pay as a Guest, you will be charged a convenience fee of $6.99.
- Option to set up recurring payments so your payments will automatically be sent each month.
- Quick and easy access to make a payment without having to enter all of your loan information every time.
- Online Payment Center – use our secure online payment center to pay your Northwest Federal loans via ACH or by debit card.
- Online Banking – make payments by transferring funds from your savings or checking account to your loan accounts through Online Banking. You can also set up ACH payments from other financial institutions.
- Visit a Northwest Federal Credit Union Branch or Shared Branch – make a loan payment in-person at a branch near your home or work location.
- Send your payment by mail.
Using the Online Payment Center
Payments can be made using a debit card or by using a financial institution routing number and account number. Credit card payments are not accepted.
There is no fee to make a payment if you sign up as a Registered user. A convenience fee of $6.99 is charged for Guest or non-registered users and $9.99 for members making payments over the phone with a live representative.
As a Registered User you can add, update and manager your payment methods with your Wallet. Your Wallet is accessible from the top of the page within the Online Payment Center.
You can make additional payments on your auto or personal loan, however advance payments are not accepted for home loans in the online payment center.
Payments toward principal only or escrow-only payments are not accepted through the Online Payment Center. If you would like to make a principal or escrow payment contact us at 703-709-8900 for more details.
After your payment is successfully processed, an email or text confirmation will be forwarded based on the confirmation method selected. (If you receive your confirmation by text, please note that SMS fees may apply based on your mobile plan).
Auto and Personal loans can be paid off using the Online Payment Center. To pay off a Mortgage, contact us at 703-709-8900 for details on the payoff process.
As a Registered User, you can manage your password and contact information under My Profile in the upper right corner.
If you are a Registered User with a valid registered email address, click “Forgot Password” and follow the prompts to receive a temporary password. Once you enter your temporary password you will be prompted to select a new one.
Yes, you can schedule your recurring payment for any date.
No, as a Guest user you are unable to set up recurring payments. Guest users can only submit a same day payment or schedule a one-time future payment and will be charged a $6.99 convenience fee.
You can schedule your payment to be made up to 90 days in advance.
